High school safe-driving competition held at Middletown school

The competition has four components driving skill test, perceptual slide examination, written test and visual vehicle inspection.

All first- and second- place finishers from the regional safe-driving competitions will vie for scholarships in state competition May 12 at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg Hershey in East Pennsboro Township in Cumberland County.

A $5 thousand, a $3 thousand and a $2 thousand scholarship will be awarded to the top three state competition finalists.

The competition is a project of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, PennDOT, law enforcement and other safety-related organizations.
